Left Over Family Chili (See Master Recipe)
Individual Bags of Original Frito Corn Chips
Assorted Toppings:   Green Onions, Cilantro, Shredded Cheese, Pickled Jalapenos, Hot Sauce, Diced Tomatoes, Sour Cream, Mexican Crema


This is a non-recipe type of recipe! It is a fun way to eat your chili, the family will love it, and it is super fun for a football party as well. Here are the basics.

Step 1: Heat up the chili on the stove

Step 2: Prepare the Frito Bags by slicing them across the front of the bag. So, you will not cut the top off like usual, instead, you will lay the bag down and slice it from top to bottom, creating a bit of a “bowl.”

Step 3: Once the bowl has been created you or your guests will scoop the chili on top of the fritos and then top with your preferred toppings. I have listed several traditional toppings above, but you can add to this Frito Pie Buffet with any other favorite toppings that you might have.

Step 4: Grab a fork and eat away!


You will need to determine how many people you are feeding and how much chili you will need. This is a fun way to use up leftovers, but if this is the centerpiece for a party you may want to use a full chili recipe and will need to have enough bags of chips and enough toppers for your crowd!
